Westfield High School freshmen Dani Staley, Jenna Ogle, Austin Jordan and Grant Plumer worked together to put finishing touches rock on the Class of 2013's Homecoming Float Wednesday.
In all, approximately 10 freshmen students have helped work on the class float. Ogle said the toughest part of the float was gluing the feathers onto the smashed eagle, while the easiest part was making the paper mache rock. (WHS is known as the Shamrocks and its Homecoming opponent, Zionsville, is the Eagles).
"After finding the right gold color, the rock was easy," she said.
The community is invited to come see the Class of 2013 and the other class floats during today's Homecoming Parade, which begins at 5:30 p.m. at the WHS Football Field.
Following today's parade, the Shamrocks will face off against Zionsville in soccer at 7 p.m. and the inter-class Powder Puff Flag Football tournament will follow at 8:30 p.m. The winners of the freshmen-junior and sophomore-senior games will play each other in the championship. Both events will be played at the WHS Soccer Field located behind the high school building.
